RUles

  • 5 minutes max for performance

  • 2 -10 actors.   Entries with more than 10 performers will not be allowed to perform.

  • Actors will be judged as if they were performing a monologue.  Singing abilities will be considered secondary to interpretation.

  • SONGS MUST BE FROM A STAGE MUSICAL – NO MOVIE MUSICALS. (For example: You should not choose anything from "Moana," "La La Land," "Greatest Showman"… you get the idea.)

  • Songs must be from a musical that is available to produce. This means most new musicals on Broadway may not be able to perform at this festival.

  • You must bring your own track/recording for accompaniment. Bluetooth speakers will be provided in the room, please bring an aux cord that works with your device if it is not Bluetooth compatible. You may bring your own dock/speakers if you prefer. An accompanist will not be provided.  Digital Pianos can be provided upon request if you prefer to bring an accompanist.

  • No a cappella singing.  If you don't have music, you will be disqualified.

  • 4 entries per time period max. During registration, please be able to designate the selection as Uptempo or Ballad AND identify if your performance is performed by a small group (2-4 performers) or a large group (5-10 performers).  We may choose to further divide the category if there is an increase in registrations for this category.

    • A ballad is generally a slower, emotionally-driven song.

    • Uptempo is usually quicker, peppy, sometimes comedy-driven or used to feature clever lyrics or a dance break.
